Rick Nealis, Marine Corps Marathon

Maj Rick Nealis joined the Marines in 1972 and after 20 years of service, retired to join the U.S. Olympic effort as deputy coordinator of the Olympic Torch relay. After that he began his 14 year tenure as director of the Marine Corps Marathon and led the development of this amazing event to its current position among the few really great events in America. The corps seems to love exceptional challenges and it is clear that in directing the Marine Corps Marathon for so many years so does Major Rick Nealis.
